Zachary Stultz

Art Director | Graphic Designer

Hi, I’m Zach – an Art Director, Graphic Designer, & creative enthusiast, currently based in Northern Virginia.

Here are some of my creations.

AAEI Rebrand

CLIENT: American Association of Importers & Exporters
ROLE: Art Direction and Sole Designer

To bring their 100+ year-old brand into the modern era, we needed to revamp their identity from the inside out. I set out to design a logo that felt both fresh and contemporary while standing the test of time. Using a visually engaging color palette and a bold lettermark accentuated by a forward-pointing arrow, I created a logo designed to propel the new brand ahead. The concept behind the mark was twofold: I combined the shape of an arrow—symbolizing the movement of trade—with a three-dimensional box to represent a shipping container.

C/C Branding

CLIENT: Community Over Competition Foundation
ROLE: Sole Brand Designer (Freelance)

Community Over Competition Nonprofit Foundation. Their mission is to empower women through the teaching of martial arts. What began as a safe space for female fighters to train together has evolved into a community of women building the tools to protect themselves both in and out of the ring. When my friend and I first discussed the concept, she asked for a logo that felt strong yet feminine, with an emphasis on the number three. I combined an inverted triangle—representing both femininity and strength—with a lotus symbolizing growth and resilience.

Technica Rebrand

CLIENT: Technica Corporation
ROLE: Art Direction, Lead Designer, UI/UX Direction

Feeling that their previous brand was outdated, Technica tasked us with revamping their identity to better reflect their high-tech capabilities and position them as the industry’s thought leaders and innovative problem solvers. To achieve this, I updated their color palette, designed a new logo that unified all their brand elements into a cohesive mark, developed a hierarchical system to apply across all brand assets, and assembled an expansive icon set to be used throughout their materials.

Kojam Branding

CLIENT: Kojam Productions
ROLE: Art Direction and Lead Designer

Kojam Productions is an event planning service focused on creating fun, family-friendly environments. They approached us for new branding to help elevate their micro-business to the next level. To achieve this, I designed a logo that reflects the lively, party-like atmosphere they provide. I chose a bold, funky font, which was enhanced by the use of brightly colored radial lines to evoke the feeling of stage lights. Additionally, I designed business cards, a set of sub-logos for specific events, and other branded collateral.

Thundercat Commercial

CLIENT: Thundercat Technology
ROLE: Storyboard Designer, Script Development and Animation Direction

The Thundercat team approached us to elevate their existing TV commercial in order to boost customer engagement. To achieve this, we decided to completely reimagine the script and visual content, transforming it into something bold and innovative that directly speaks to the consumer. The result was a much more dramatic and engaging animation designed to capture the attention of any audience.

Vota Vera Branding

CLIENT: Vota Vera Salon
ROLE: Art Direction and Sole Web/Brand Designer

The client approached us to create a brand identity for their salon, set to open the following year. They desired something elegant and sophisticated with a hint of rustic modern aesthetics. To bring this vision to life, I developed a new logo, all branding assets, environmental design for the brick-and-mortar location, and a simple website featuring a photo gallery and appointment scheduling functions. The color palette was inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s Autumn Blossoms, complemented by the interior elements such as black ceilings and marble floors.
